It's me or the idea is similar to the movie Vainilla Sky?

I'm NOT taking away the credits and nothing like that, is a game... history good told. however, once I understand what were making the doctors I immediately remember the movie concept. Trap Johny to a fake life (Though requested by him) was similar to the "happy life" on the stand-by of the movie.

P.d. anyway, the idea of the begin: "My wife die angry with me because I didn't remember I given her that strange duck due I was drugged heavy after that..." don't have a price.

I can sort of see where you could connect those two.
There's some similarity there... its romantic side makes me think even more of "Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind" (another extremely mind-blowey movie about playing with memories, with Jim Carrey giving a surprisingly serious and even touching interpretation). To The Moon has an added layer of melancholy for me and if I had to rate the three, though, I'd say it's got the best story - possibly because the longer play time and interactive nature of the medium allow it to flesh out the characters better and make you empathize with them more.

Also, both those films are seen mostly from the point of view of the person whose memories are being changed - here we get the perspective of the people doing the change. As a result, it is much more poignant concerning the ethics of such a process, going beyond the point of both those movies (which ultimately aim for the 'fake memories are never better than real ones, even if they are happier' message). In To The Moon you get to see the other side of the coin and you really ponder that question.

Vanilla Sky is just a hollywood remake of a spanish movie titled "Abre los ojos" aka "open your eyes". Americans are too arrogant to watch foreign movies, so they remake them, most of the time th result is really bad.

We should give credit where it's due.

For me I don't feel deeper connection with the characters in this way. Still, its is interesting when the games are almost movies (but is not the case for this one).

Yes, this is what make the background of To the moon interesting, a similar idea seen from another perspective.

Yes, in the moment I did the commentary didn't know/remember it.
However I would not seen this movie as arrogant or bad, actually the "Abre los ojos" author stated:

When I learned, quite some time ago now, that Cameron Crowe was going to write and direct the film based on Open Your Eyes with Tom Cruise in the leading role, I felt honored. Now that I have seen Vanilla Sky, I couldn't be more proud. Cameron has all my respect and admiration. Respect, for having plumbed the deepest meaning of the work. Admiration, for having sought new viewpoints and a fresh approach to the mise-en-scene, giving the film his own unmistakable touch. Vanilla Sky is as true the original spirit as it is irreverent towards its form, and that makes it a courageous, innovative work. I think I can say that, for me, the projects are like two very special brothers. They have the same concerns, but their personalities are quite different. In other words, they sing the same song but with quite different voices: one likes opera, and the other likes rock and roll
And the Vanilla sky has the most simple and perfect reference to the first one: At the beginning begin with a phrase in spanish: "Abre los ojos".
