Whenever the game gives me control of my character, the character starts moving to the left of the screen and I can't issue any commands to them. Anyone have any ideas?

Do you happen to have a controller plugged into your PC (either gamepad, stick or racing wheel)? Try unplugging it and play.

Apparently the "controller" I had plugged in was a TomTom. I have no idea why, but unplugging it immediately solved the problem.

Them doctors were probably trying to move using the navigation rather than the player input haha!
