because MSVCP110.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

Any suggestions guys?

I love this game, and after taking a hiatus went to play this evening with some friends.
I'm running the latest version 1.42. and using Windows 10, and I hit this on startup.
The GOG Galaxy link just changes color and retruns to green after a second when I click play
I only get this message when I hit the shortcut directly.

I think this has something to do with the C++++redistrubutable library, but I'm not very tech savvy ad any help would be great;y appreciated.

Thank you for your time in looking at this.

botebote77: install vcredists 2005, 08 and 12
Thank you for the advice.
I downloaded and installed 2005 and 2008. However 2012 is no longer supported and can't be downloaded from Microsoft anymore. I'm wondering if that is the problem?

Maybe Win 10 decided it's not needed and deleted it?

Ok. So a continuation of this:

I went through my program list and found that I have the C+++ Redist for 2005-2017.
Whatever it is looking for should be in there, but it is still not running and it is throwing the same error code.

Any help would be appreciated...it is killing me that a once stable game is now just not working, and I apparently have what is needed....

check your folders you should have the offline installers when you bought the game.. if it's not there try this

http://www.standaloneofflineinstallers.com/2015/12/Microsoft-Visual-C-Redistributable-2015-2013-2012-2010-2008-2005-32-bit-x86-64-bit-x64-Standalone-Offline-Installer-for-Windows.html?m=1

pls try the 32bit and 64bit versions.. if you already have it installed, choose repair.. if it still won't work uninstall the vcredist and install again

Thank you for the links.

Well.....

I have now done the following:

Uninstalled the C+++ redistributables from 2005-2015, and replaced them current versions (and I checked to make sure they match my OS).
I have uninstalled and reinstalled TQ.

And I am still getting the same error.

I'm really stumped, because others seem to have gotten this error before, and the above suggested fixes have worked for them. Yet, I seem to be stuck, unable to go forward.

Thank you for the suggestions. It seems like there must be some more serious problem at hand.

Going back, the game seemed to be working fine until the lates update for Windows that included their studio upgrade?

this is weird.. the file should be part of C++

have you tried running it in windows 7 or 8 compatibility?
running as admin?

if your AV detects the file as a virus and deletes it, I'm afraid you have been infected with a malware.. but nah pls try the above suggestions first
Well. Funny story.

I downloaded TQ directly from Gog and did not use the Galaxy client.

Game works just fine now!

The funny part, is that the Galaxy Client no longer works.
I can't help but feel there is some strange conflict at work between these two programs.
Other option:

Search in C:\WIndows\SysWOW64 for the dll. If it isnt ther (on this computer it was there as msvcp110_win.dll) download the 32bit-Version of the dll from dll-files and copy it in the directory. Same for msvcr110.dll.
This was the solution for our problem of missing files...
