Hi everyone, I am new player. I benefit from the recent offer and I bought Titan Quest.
I see there are quite a bit of mods and a friend of mine suggested the Achille Mod.

I am aware that to ask what is the favorite mod set is kinda like ask what is the favorite pizza topping. But I am interested in some opinions to get started. So, what do you like? Why?

New player? Then how about Vanilla.
So, you suggest to leave in well-known annoyances just because I did not felt them already? I don't understand.

For example, I am already annoyed I cannot rotate the camera (can I?) when going left or right it's fine. When I have to go up or down it's so limiting...

On the other hand, I guess that's one possibility.

Such as? If you already know you want to use some quality of life mods then feel free. My point was you don't need mods to enjoy the game.

First, I wasn't terribly bothered by the camera. Second, I don't think that mod was updated for AE when I started playing. I did add the All Skins mod not long after I started progressing in some of my different builds.
Personally I would and have skipped any mods that alter gameplay until after I played through game for a while, e.g. overhaul mods.

TQVault XL Tool is the only mod I use. I would really rather not have to use it but the amount of crafting items (charms, relics and artifacts) accumulated would fill the inventory of several mules. This mod allows you to keep your items sorted and gives a great overview of what you have and what you need.

So unless you're for some obscure reason not planning to craft artifacts or don't mind having hundreds of crafting material scattered all over your characters I'd consider getting that.
etb, Achilles is a very unbalanced mod and isn't really suitable for new players. It's not a mod that you play right from the start of the game at level 1, it's more for farmining purposes to get specific items with already well built characters. Typhoon is the same.

As far as I know the camera mod hasn't been updated for the AE version so you're stuck with the game as is I'm afraid.

Not quite.
Plus this one.

I found...

Vanilla a bit boring. The enemies are sparse and the challenges fairly easy, bosses a part.

Achilles a bit strange, the starting of the game looks fairly normal. But the Champions are ridiculously overpowered.

xMax fairly good, as minimal mod it ensures the maximum number of enemies. It has a big downside, also bosses are triplicated, making some challenges (like Gorgons bosses) pretty much impossible on normal run.

Path looks nice, but I did not played much as it seems quite unfit for the single player experience as each path as strong weak points that may prevent to proceed in some parts. I played as a "Archmage" and I got stuck against the first horde of undead for example.

Bloody Uber Diablo Xmax-Bounce is the one. It improves the number of enemies kinda like xMax, but the author is working to avoid the triple-boss problem (it should be fixed, but since it was not trivial change it has to be tested) and it makes enemies much more variegated (wizards, healers...) so battles have to be a bit more thought about. It also makes GUI and some musics more Diablo-esque, but I think it is secondary.

Well, I guess it depends on what you're looking for and how experienced an RPG player you are too.

Xmax can be played right from the start though yes, some bosses can be difficult since they come in 3s. But people have played this all the way through to the end of Legendary with no deaths as the Xmax Hardcore Challenge on the TtanQuest.net forum proved. This challenge will likely be set up again over on a new TQ forum here:

http://titanquestfans.byethost11.com/smf/index.php

once we get the layout sorted out. Other challenges which you could try with either the vanilla game or using a mod is the Naked Hardcore Challenge (only weapons/shields, relics/charms for said items and health/energy potions) and the Yellows Only Hardcore Challenge for which you only use yellow items to play the game with - no greens, blues or purples. Again both these challenges will be set up again on the new forum.

If you think Achilles was bad try playing M4ssboss3s mod from the start. Maxed level for mobs, champions/heroes come in groups of 5/6 at a time as soon as you cross the bridge at Helos and bosses come in groups of 24. Which means for the Gorgon Sisters you're fighting 72 of them! I did actually do this with a Diviner in one of my crazier moments - iirc she's somewhere in Act 4 Normal, but of course has had some deaths along the way.
I guess that with enough grinding and peek-a-boo tactics one can do everything. Still imo, Bloody Uber Diablo Xmax-Bounce is the right balance :) strongly suggested.
