Hi there! I'm experiencing a bunch of problems when trying to play Titan Quest Anniversary Edition on multiplayer. I'm trying to play it with my brother and my cousin on LAN. When either of them created the game, they could see each other and join the game, if I did neither could find me. I made sure my firewall allows TQ.exe to connect to whatever, but I also tried disabling it (against my better judgement), which didn't solve anything. We all have the same version of TQAE, too.

We also tried to connect via internet, which worked for a short time, then I got disconnected for some reason. Now every time I try to join the game, I get "network problems have occured", which probably ranks among the least helpful notifications ever. Googling it yielded that many people seem to have the same problem, but nobody has an actual solution for it.

can you play with only 2 players? also try disabling all your firewalls.. not just yours
i don't know if your still trying this but do you have the same game versions? 1.42 is the latest.

it says here that gog and steam can crossplay as long as you have the same versions

you can also try installing/repairing C++ 2013
Yes, we made sure the game versions were updated, and I am utterly against disabling my firewall while doing anything on the internet. For some reason, a bit of an unwieldy workaround was for the host to save the game and reopen it. This is of course not the most ideal solution as it meant having everything respawn, but it worked and we got things done in the end. For some reason, I could rejoin the game later without the host having to reopen.

Thanks for the help though!

Edit: tried disabling firewalls when we tried to only do the LAN game, but that didn't work.

This pertains to making a LAN multiplayer game in TQ.

I have 2 windows 10 computers on the same LAN network but neither could see the other within TQ. Each machine has multiple network devices some real some virtual. I had to disable all but the one connected to the LAN to get the LAN multiplayer to work in TQ. My guess is that it grabs the first network device it finds which might not be the correct one.

It would be nice if it used all of the available network devices or let you pick which network to use.

Hopefully this will help someone else to play LAN.
