Don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to get used to that spider on epic and legendary difficulties :)

For what it's worth - I played melee character in TQ (warfare + defense) and it was pretty viable. I think I could tank just aboud anything except for the Typhoon and Manticore boss. It was one of the reasons I chose melee build in Grim dawn. They are less forgiving when you have bad equipment, but with good equip you can just focus on killing things instead of loosing time with kiting.
