OK, I've noticed that the 24-hour clock in the game seems to have no relationship to the day-night cycle in the game. I haven't timed it but the D-N cycle seems to last for only a couple of game-time hours as denoted by the clock--ie, there are several full day-night cycles per 24-hour period. Does anyone know of a way to more closely align the clock with the d-n cycles so that there are just 1 (or maybe even two) per 24-hours? Sometimes the clock says 12:05 am and it is broad daylight, sometimes the clock says it is 9:00 a.m. and it's pitch dark and the moon is out.

Just thought I'd ask...;)

How do you see the 24 hour clock in the game?
If I move the mouse cursor to the upper left corner, I see the clock for real-world time, but I don't know anything about in-game time.

Well...I had just assumed it was game time...;) (What I get for assuming!) Thanks for setting me straight about that...;)

So, is there any way to change the day-night cycle length? Ideally I'd like the daylight 3x longer than the night duration--but I've looked and there doesn't seem to be a way to change that. The days just seem to fly by entirely too fast....
Try playing it multiplayer, you'll sometimes see one person's game is night time while another's is broad day.
