In the intro sequence there are three people in the HTC, the virus guy who is arrested at the end, the woman who you save at the end, and a scientist sitting where the woman is standing. He isn't in the ending and doesn't seem to be present at all. Is this just a continuity error/unsolved mystery :p?

I never took my eyes off the girl long enough to notice before. Have to try and beat the game again to see.

If you have the talkie version of the game you'll hear "I guess time wasn't on his side."

I know the guy who installs the virus is arrested, but there's a third character working with the woman at the beginning, it almost looks like he has mechanical hands or something. He seems completely absent in the ending.
