+1 for official version.
For anyone with good enough skills, you can use Linux native version of Unity player, native .so files and modified mono config files to run the game natively. I've been playing like this since v1.5 and it's been working absolutely flawlessly. Didn't try any mods, but the game itself and custom maps work with no problems whatsoever.
The often reported alt+tab problem with playing windows version on proton is not present when playing like this.
Why the devs don't support Linux is beyond me. If I can make it work on my spare time (and really, it was like 30 minutes to get it working the first time), surely they can do it also.
