I might be interested in this game, so I briefly watched a "Let's Play". I saw there that you begin by choosing a mode: Resistance or Story. But, "Resistance Mode" states that there are "no save games". What does this mean? Do you have to play the entire game in one sitting? This seems unlikely, as it's a fairly long game, I believe (10 hours?).

According to a developer elsewhere:
It is basically an "iron man" mode, yes.
You can only continue your save game and not choose between different save games.
And when you fail you can only try the last day again (which probably is not enough to turn the tides anyway)
