I was looking at purchasing Thronebreaker but after reading various opinions it turns out that the game is way too easy. Some compare it to original W3 Gwent where after a while encounters turned from challenges into chores. I love the Witcher lore and CDPR games but I also love good and solid gameplay. So as much as I'd love to sink my teeth into another Witcher experience I can't justify spending money on a game if half of it is boring.

I was just wondering if there has been any word from CDPR on this and if they have any plans whatsoever to do something about it.

Not boring. Story telling is very good, and choices have impacts (like whether you get a great card or not or piss off another npc). Game has standard battles (use your cards) AND puzzle-esque battles. The puzzle battles use pre-selected cards with pre-set rules/criteria/win/lose situations and optional win criteria that can impact other things, and some are hard, though I'm playing hardest difficulty.

If you play Gwent 24/7, then some puzzles might be a tad easy vs. someone new coming into the game as you might already know some techniques. I haven't played Gwent since it was in beta, so took a bit to get used to the newer design and all the different card atributes, which I've barely scratched.


Choose hardest difficulty. Pay attention to what the cards do or don't do. It took me about 11 hours to clear the 1st area (did/found everything) so guessing it can go upwards of 40 hours. For $30, you can't beat it. Voice-overs are superb. The queen's VO artist is a pro. When she says something about a head rolling down a cobblestone, she's giving it 200%.

I mean.. if they were working on a patch to bump up the difficulty, I don't think they would officially comment on it until they released such a patch. So just sit tight and maybe something will appear. ^^

Are you talking about Meve? man shes hard on the "ssss"´s and you clearly get the impression shes reading a script ./

edit: strangly after the tutorial she got much better, i wonder if the VA was done a long time apart. and yeah, she has some passion when killing is involved hehe

she still has some hard Ss tho, but way less

The voice acting and sound improves consideberaly by mid of the tutorial.

For your information, from a native British English speaker, the voice acting is outstanding; at least as good as The Witcher 3's.

I am not and still agree, all of them are amazing.

I just found heavy problems with meve during the first top 5 mim of gameplay, and shes amazing with only the tiny ocasional lisp after the beginning of the tutorial, for 99,99% of the game (havent finished but i expect the quality stays the same now)

I restarted a game and the same thing, like the first dialogues, until u get your first camp.shes bad on them. she clearly delivers like reading a script and the "S"´s.. right in the first sentence she speaks, when she says "signed" my ears are pierced.... good thing she gets excelent after

She doesn't lisp at all. She speaks with a Yorkshire accent. If I'm hearing what I think you're talking about (and that's not clear), it may be that the early dialogue was recorded with the actress too close to the mic, resulting is a high-pitched hiss when she pronounces the letter S. That would explain your complaint about having your ears pierced, particularly if you're wearing headphones.
