Been waiting for this game to come out on GOG for a while now.

But its crashing after that initial FMV. Tried going through the general crash suggestions, but nothing solved it.

Any tricks to try?

Something with my monitor was causing issues. Its an S2417DG, and I went to the Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D settings > set as much as I could to OFF and everything else to application-controlled or whatever.

The setting for me that lets the game get past the fatal error and to the main menu was the "Preferred refresh rate" had to be set to "application-controlled"

I have a S2716DG monitor and I was also having this same Fatal Error crash after the intro cinematic. This is likely due to the monitor being a 144hz monitor and Throne of Darkness isn't compatible with high refresh rate.

I ran into the problem only when I tried to click to fast to bypass the introductory sequences of titles/intros, etc. If I just clicked normally once each time a new one appeared, it would work fine and skip to the next. If I tried multiple clicking or clicking too fast, I got that same error window crashing the game. I did assume also it had something to do with the graphics/monitor refresh. Thankfully mine only happens if I click fast when the game starts up, no other problems that some have when it happens no matter what.

I'm still getting this "Fatal Error" message. Tried solutions above to no avail.

Any solutions for systems without nvidia graphic cards? Bought this game during the summer sale, i am still not able to play it :(

well i play on integrated graphics, so has nothing to do with nvidia graphic cards, or without, etc. I have neither nor.

I also have integrated graphics. But your solution (slow clicking) did not work for me.

Same here! I try to play on notebook with integrated graphic chip.

I just keep deleting the old saved files, also I am using dxwnd to run it in windowed mode. I havent done anything else but this made my game playable.

For me, deactivating Rivatuner Statistics Server was the solution.
