I need the overlay feature but it doesn't work, no way that I know of. Does anyone know how to activate it in this game?

there is an online guide on how to activate the overlay found here.
The overlay is only available on the "GOG Galaxy" client and is enabled through the client's "Settings"->"Game features" tab, by ticking the appropriate option box.
After starting the game, the overlay can be activated by pressing the "Shift"+"Tab" combination on your keyboard.
