The keys are statically mapped to a QWERTY layout. With a non-QWERTY keyboard (QWERTZ) the verbs are not at the proper keys for the 3x3 grid QWE-ASD-ZXC

I've just seen that this exact problem has been fixed by the last patch. For anybody interested in remapping keys, here's a blog post by Ron Gilbert and here are the patch notes
