Hi, I've bought the whole Thief Trilogy yesterday, and while I should be able to run them with no problems, it seems I have some pretty big stuttering issues. I'll go a few steps with buttery smooth framerate, only for the game to stop for a sec every so often.
Now I don't have what can be described as a gaming laptop, but every site I checked pointed at me being able to run the game with no issues.
Here are my specs:
VIDEO CARD: AMD Radeon(TM) R4 Graphics
CPU: AMD A6-9220e RADEON R4, 5 COMPUTE CORES 2C+3G
CPU SPEED: 2.9 GHz
RAM: 4.0 GB
OS: Windows 10
TOTAL VIDEO RAM: 2.0 GB

I am admittedly not great at PC gaming, so I'm sorry if anyone answers me and I am not able to fully comprehend in advance. I'm really interested in these games and I'd be really sad if I couldn't play them properly.
I should mention, I tried using TFix already and nothing seemed to change. I previously installed the game on a external pendrive, will try installing the game on the internal one to see if any difference is presence. Thanks in advance!
integrated gpus often don't like FSAA very much. try patching up with TFix again and answer YES to the integrated gpu/disable FSAA prompt.

So I tried reinstalling TFix but no such prompt appeared. I got one for Vsync, and I figured that was the one.
Unfortunately the situation didn't change much, the framerate dances around a bit between 30 to 60. I've also had this problem with other games such as Clive Barker's Undying.

I fear I may drop pc gaming altogether if I can't run these old games on a 2020 laptop.
ok, I'm very sure that there is no way for the prompt to not appear, as long as you are using TFix full. anyway, you can just open cam_ext.cfg with notepad, find multisampletype and change it to
;multisampletype 8
that will disable it.

So, sorry for the incredibly late reply and the amazing display of noobishness.
I retried installed TFix, this time accepting all the options beside the OldDark one, as I refrained to do so before.
This seemed fine enough, though the framerate sometimes dances around. Again, the prompt did not appear at all, so maybe I'm missing something?
I did open the file and changed multisampletype to ;multisampletype before reinstalling the game and TFix. Didn't seem to change much but actually made the game run worse than I remembered. Will try again now.
Again, I deeply apologize, I know I'm getting annoying.
ok, so you do not see the attached pop-up window mid-patching?
