Hello, I hope I'm not late in this thread.
I just started TDS, played for a couple minutes, then went to look for tweaks (mostly I wanted to get rid of the head bobbing) and found this mod. Downloaded and installed it. It mostly looks good so far, the head bobbing is reduced, the UI looks nicer, and the loading times are way improved. It also seemed to remove the tutorial elements from the first level, but I can live with that, I've played Thief Gold and Metal Age so I know basically what's going on.
However, I just noticed near the start of the first level that the guard behind the window no longer notices when I walk on the metal. Nor does walking on the metal make any noise. Indeed, my walking doesn't seem to be making any noise at all. (Jumping onto the metal makes noise, but still doesn't alert the guard.) It wasn't like this before I installed the mod so I'm assuming the mod messed it up somehow. Walking noise is obviously a big part of the stealth element of this game and I don't want to play without it. Does anyone know how I might fix this?

I was hoping not to have to make an account on another forum just for this one problem. :(
After experimenting some more I've determined that the headbobbing factor seems to influence the rate at which Garrett's footstep sounds occur. That is, with headbobbing at 0.1 the footstep sounds are about 10 times farther apart than usual. With headbobbing at 0 the footstep sounds presumably never occur. Whether this affects stealth I don't know- even with headbobbing at 1 the guard behind the grate still doesn't notice the sound of the metal, so it may be that him noticing was a special trigger for the tutorial and got deactivated along with the other tutorial features. Other guards do seem to notice my footsteps, even with headbobbing at 0. Anyway, it looks like I'll have to play with headbobbing on in order to get the footstep sounds, which sucks but I don't really see any other option. I'll leave this here in case someone else is searching for the same problem.
