I actually enjoy the missions, but when it comes to the parts in between, I've never been more frustrated in a while.
I'll be bum rushed by guards when I'm in a completely secure hiding spot when some other group of people somewhere else gets into a fight, attacked because I quietly stepped on grass in the dark, or have the unique joy of the sniper eyed guards seeing me when I'm still in the shadows and far away from their walk ways.
I've tried tweaking ini settings to stop this insanity, but they only seem to influence missions (where challenge is actually welcome. Is there any way to fix it?
