I have a problem to climb a ladder in the sewers stage,is it any update or a solution for this bug?

I have read two things (I have the game have yet to play the series)
One, save game, turn VSync ON, close game and restart, load save, climb ladder, save, repeat first part to turn vsync back off. Guess game feels choppy with it on?

OR

Use this unofficial patch which says it fixes climbing and other issues.

I have already used the unofficial patch and lost the saves....Once I have the courage to play again the game from the versy start I will keep in mind the 1st solution you suggest .
