But whoever made the Opera House mission can shove the water symbol where the sun don't shine.
Fuck that mission, every thing is made to screw you over: Tile floors, lots of guards(which have night vision or something), scarce dark corners. You name it.
And you people say that the Thieves Guild or the Lost CIty mission is the hardest.

Oddly enough, I loved the Opera House mission. I had enough dark or high places to hide in, I could make my way across the tile floors by either using moss arrows or going slowly while keeping track of the patrolling guards, the secret passages made exploration fun, and, most importantly, I felt like a bloody thief. The Lost City level has problems without question, but the biggest one is that it feels like something that belongs in a Tomb Raider game, not a Thief game.

But at least you're not forced to watch Garret's ass blocking the view all the taffing time.
I also enjoyed the Opera House a great deal, good design and just being in an classic Opera House was very atmospheric. I even enjoyed Thieves Guild for its maze like structure but I hated the hidden levers in one mission but I can't find the name of it but it must be one of the middle missions as I'm still on Return to the Cathedral (I haven't tried it yet) and I recall it was relatively recently I played it. Now that was annoying.

No, but I need to do the same type of precision platforming, something that first person games do not do well. Mirror's Edge was the closest thing to an exception to that rule I can recall, and even then it had issues.
I understand you guys liking the opera house mission, but I hated it. Thats my opinion.
But for me, the best level of the game was the one where you need to infiltrate Ramires mansion.
I liked the Opera House mission too. Sorry.

Thieves Guild was not outrageously hard, but it was rather poorly designed compared to most of the other missions.
Well peeps, the "Escape" level is more frustating than the Opera House level.
Opera mission is great, dude. And it has enough shadows to cover yourself. Besides, it is a great stage, that even modern games have much to be jealous of. Complexity is a plus. Especially when combined with craftiness. Lost? Use Garrett's compass... Nothing you can't handle, believe it.
I actually thought the Opera House mission was brilliant. The beginning of it, when you hear this weirdo singing in the distance, is just one of those neat moments you don't forget.. it strikes me as a fabulous design choice in terms of overshadowing what's to come. (I've only played it on normal difficulty though)

About the earlier comment mentioning tomb raider, who could ever complain about Lara's booty blocking the view? LOL. It's a guy's game, made for guys.

I'm not even going to touch the "guy's game" nonsense, so let me assure you, when the camera is determined to give the player a view of Lara's ass as opposed to giving them a convenient view of the environment without fighting the camera, it can be enough to kill off any pixel-based arousal.
The only part of the Opera House mission I found annoying was one of the upstairs areas. Other than than that, I thought it was a great mission.

Which is obviously what Tomb Raider was centred around. Look at Laras character model and then look at other human character models. They are so blocky it's rediculous, they have square heads for gods sake!!! Yet, no magazine reivew I saw of Tomb Raider pointed out this discrepancy. Just, lots of drooling over how great Laras character model looked. I found it really pathetic and I was 16 years old when Tomb Raider first came out too.

Tell me about it. I was in the same boat back in my teens, although now, having replayed the first two games, I am baffled at the idea of how I could have found them arousing. Ok, maybe the second one where her boobs were more well rounded and didn't look like a triangular prism, but that's still stretching the brain to breaking point in the process.
Aww man, the Opera House is one of my favorite missions in the game.
