;)

Gog probably won't support gnu/linux, but distributing this game it will make this titanic effort more known.
Seems like a pretty good idea. I voted.
I imagine there could be a number of hurdles to getting this on GOG.

If it were free GOG would have to put time/money into maintaining the download (adding updates etc), its bandwidth costs and offering support while not making anything in return. Meanwhile it already has download and support options

Though that said I would like it on GOG especially because I refuse to use the install method they seem to force on you to install The Dark Mod, if I remember correctly they make you download an installer which is actually a downloader.

I don't support new or classic games that I love or distributors that force such things on people so no interest in The Dark Mod while they're seemingly forcing such downloaders on people.

quick edit.....

Since I was thinking about it I thought I'd check thedarkmod.com if they still force that stupid install downloader and it seems they do, also ended up finding things like the game folder having to be named exactly "darkmod" or else it wont work. At this point I just started closing pages as no doubt looking for more than a few minutes will only find more problems.

This thing doesn't deserve to be on GOG, GOG shouldn't be burdened with having to support something that's still such a mess. However good it might be to play it's an end user nightmare before even launching it.

Gog already distributes Warshow that is in the same situation. (free, updates and such...)

Besides, if you have problem installing Dark Mod I am afraid the problem is in your side. The "stupid downloader" is in this case actually a feature, so you can update without re-downloading everything. In many cases the downloader (e.g. Skype) are useless burden, but not in this case.

My biggest issue with Dark Mod is that it refuses to let me alt-tab. Other than that, aside from a few stutters it's been pretty good.
