I installed the latest version of Thief2X: Shadows of the Metal Age today (v1.1). The menus and cutscenes all run as they should, but as soon as the game starts, performance is very bad (Fraps shows it's running at 15-20fps). Lowering the resolution from 1680x1050 to 800x600 increased the fps to around 30, but it would still drop below that and feel sluggish. Disabling skyboxes and fogging didn't help. I fired up Thief 2: The Metal Age, and that did of course run at 60fps without any issues at my native resolution.

What could be the issue here? Is SotMA not running on NewDark? Are there any additional steps that I may have missed?

I don't think using the original installer (if that's what you did) will work properly - move the entire T2x folder to the FMs folder and run it as a fan mission, see the bottom of the first post here.

Thank you! This worked perfectly. Yes, I did initially just use the installer and played it stand-alone, but I guess that wasn't the right way.
