It's well known that a number of Thief fans (including myself) prefer the Original Thief: The Dark Project over the released GOLD version. What I would like is for GOG to offer the Original Dark Project as a download option in addition to Thief GOLD, meaning that if you own Thief GOLD, you can download the original and vice verse if you prefer GOLD. I already made a request page (Look up Thief: The Dark Project (Original). GOG won't let me add links).

If you support me on this, than please vote for it. GOG will add it if enough people vote for it. Let's make GOG a Thief haven by having all versions of Thief available; it could help introduce new people to Thief's entire history. So please, help make this happen.

you can also trick TFix to treat your install as non-gold by deleting miss18.mis before patching, but this is, of course, completely unsupported.

GoldToDark has been updated, now it should be fully compatible with the GOG build, and with TFix as well. TFix should be applied last.

Don't really want to necro a 6 year old post, but I searched and couldn't find any other answer. I'm trying to use GoldToDark now and I'm getting a "WARNING: 15 of 37 computed checksums did NOT match" error on all of the .MIS files and on DARK.BND and DARK.GAM

Wondering if it's safe for me to edit the batch file to skip the checksum check or if that would break things?

In other words, I guess I'm asking how to do GoldToDark with the current GOG version.

EDIT: In case anyone else is as dumb as me, let this be your clue that you have to do GoldToDark BEFORE you do TFix, just like everyone already told you. Don't ignore that part.

Also, if anyone does do this all you have to do is delete DARK.BND from the Thief Gold directory and then do a Verify/Repair from GOG Galaxy and you'll be reset back to a clean install.
