Got the game running perfectly on my setup with just one exception. On my Asus Xonar DG the in-game sound effects are in mono (movie cut scenes and menu sounds are stereo). As you can imagine, removing the stereo sound placement from a game in which sound cues are of major importance isn't acceptable.

While the Xonar emulates EAX, the Creative Alchemy EAX fix won't work because the Alchemy installer reports it can't find any compatible hardware and thus aborts the installation process.

Anyone know of a workaround for this?

I had to set my speakers to stereo in windows and the driver control panel, ended up having to turn off "gx" or whatever its called too, was causing thief1 to crash all the damn time.
Awesome, that worked a treat!
