I like that the new installer gives us all these corrections, but I'm having problems with my saved games. I copied my old ones into the newly-installed version, but the game won't pick them up. anyone else have this problem?

Yep, it happened to me, too. I'll look into the files and see what I can find out.

EDIT: Okay, I figured it out!

The old Thief installer placed the game files into C:\GOG.com\Thief Gold by default, and the new one puts them in C:\GOG Games\Thief GOLD by default. All you need to do is copy the files in the SAVES folder from the first directory into the SAVES folder in the second one, and it should work fine!

Be warned however that you may encounter problems while playing missions from old saves in the updated version, as specified in the unofficial patch's troubleshooting.txt :

«Problem:
Game crashes or objects corrupted when loading savegames.
Cause:
Savegames from previous versions of Dark are not supported.
Solutions:
* Thief: Restart mission.
* SS2: Restart game.»
