i dead-ended in this mission in the banner room where the safe is... i looked in walkthroughs and apparently thats actually the end of the mission where the vase needed for the objective is. it says the safe key is in reuben's house... but i have no idea how to get there, or maybe i even was there already and have no idea. i have gone through everything over and over and i cannot find this damn key! does somebody remember the level well enough to give me some tips about how to find it?

I'm sorry I can't help anymore right now but I do remember that level is one hell of a maze, and I had that exact same problem. Ended up at the safe with no key.

thanks, i managed to find it after watching a video walkthrough... apparently you can get to reuben's house at the very beginning of the level using the roulette table to open a secret passage in the wall. i actually knew the passage was there because i had watched a servant who noticed me run through it to escape, but i couldnt figure out how to open it so i just figured it was a non-accessible area and continued on through the level :\

I see. But I think there's another way because I can't remember anything about a roulette table.

i'm pretty sure that there is, because the walkthroughs i originally looked at didn't go through the roulette table but they still found their way. i really have no clue how they did it though because i feel like i went through that place so many times i had it memorized in the end.
