I've just found the fire talisman and have completed all the mission objectives. Now it wants me to leave the Lost City. There is one area which I believe i haven't been to yet, at the far northwest corner of the map. Standing in front of the pedestal that the fire talisman is on and looking north I can see a passageway, but it lies across a lake of lava and it cannot be jumped. Am I supposed to get across to this passageway somehow and proceed to the far northwest corner of the map ? Or am I supposed to retrace my steps and go back to the very beginning of the mission and exit where I entered ? Or is there another way to get to this far northwest corner, from the centre of the map ? Should i be headed there or back to the starting point of the mission ?

Sorry if this is a stupid question. I am absolutely loving this game. It actually reminds me of the original Tomb Raider in some ways in certain levels.

I was hoping for a hint, though, rather than an outright answer and I should have said so. I know there are plenty of walkthroughs on the internet. Thanks though.

There might be small shortcuts ;-) but basically you have to go all the way back to exit the level.

I realize it's been a few days since you posted this, but if you are still looking for a hint, I may be able to help. That passageway you see is actually accessible early on in the mission. There's a part with branching paths, and one path leads to that passageway you saw. As far as I know, it serves no other purpose than to give you a glimpse of the fire talisman early on. You have to retrace your steps to leave the Lost City.

Thanks, and thanks to DeMignon too. I found my way back to the beginning, though only after getting lost a few times ! That passageway north of the fire talisman threw me as I thought I might have to reach it somehow in order to leave the Lost City. I'm not sure whether I had already been there or not. Some of these levels are quite maze-like. Playing Song of the Caverns now, another great level !
