I have Windows 8 and Realtek Audio. I have installed the latest TFix on Thief Gold. However, I cannot enable EAX in the options.

Is there any way to fix this?

On another board, someone suggested using TFix and then installing OpenAL will fix the problem.

This was the link that person gave: http://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/10-openal/

Anyone?
this is correct - after using TFix and installing the openAL driver, you should be able to change the sound driver to openAL, and use the hw acceleration.

That's interesting. Already without doing anything I can use Hardware Acceleration, but it won't let me use EAX.

Install OpenAL, then change Hardware Acceleration to OpenAL. The EAX option should then be available.

If you have a Creative sound card you can use Alchemy to enable hardware acceleration and EAX.
