Sorry for the possible dupe - read around here for a bit but still confused.

I just bought Thief Gold and it seems to come installed with the "NewDark" mod.
Are there "heavy" changes to the original game with this enabled? Widescreen and some bugfixes are nice i suppose, but mainly want to play as is/was.

Also, what would adding "TFix" (if not already included, idk) entail? Is it needed for proper widescreen perspective (fov)?

Finally, does the EAX/openAI sound settings work on current setups, and is there any benefit from enabling this compared to software mode except for performance or whatever?

as mentioned quite a few times now, the default GOG build has the new engine and a few fixes to some critical stuff, TFix also has overhauled maps, tweaks, improvements and also some optional mods.
