I'm using Dromed for the first time. I'd started playing around with it and edited my screen size to 1440x900 in user.cfg.

I learned from another thread that the Dromed 2 Toolkit 1.10 allows you to move around with WASD in the 3D View window, among other things.

Installing it reverts Dromed 2 to 1.18, and it seems that I can't use screen size 1440x900 any longer, and that I'm stuck with 800x600. (1280x1024 increases the size of the window, but the whole interface is "letterboxed" in the upper left corner.)
Also, it doesn't have the "MONO" status window.

Also, Open Template doesn't seem to work in either version - I have both Thief 2 1.18 on disk and the GOG 1.21 version, and neither came with levels\start.mis. What's the deal?

Does anyone know a way to get all of the above at once?
- Run in 1440,900
- Navigate with WASD, etc. in the 3D View panel
- See feedback from console in MONO window
- Get start.mis

let's assume you have already completed steps 3 and 4 from the readme (as you are using the GOG version, 1 and 2 are not necessary);
Thief2 with Newdark
1. Install Thief II The Metal Age and ensure it is patched to its latest version (1.18).
2. Install the Newdark patch
3. Decompress this toolkit to your root Thief2 directory. Overwrite any files when prompted.
4. Copy the contents of .\Tools\Thief2 Newdark Dromed\ to your root Thief2 directory.
now you will need two more files from the latest NewDark package, DromEd.exe and darkdlgs.dll (get the package here) - copy them to your T2 install (overwrite if necessary), and it's ready.

also, the editor resolution (edit_screen_size in user.cfg) should sit at some 4:3 resolution slightly lower than your desktop res - so if that is 1440*900, you should try 1152*864.
Aha, thank you, that solves 3 out of 4. I really appreciate it!

I'd been copying the Toolkit files from .\Tools\Thief2 1.18 Dromed instead of .\Tools\Thief2 Newdark Dromed; it makes perfect sense that it wasn't the up to date version.

My native res. is 1920x1080 so 1440x900 is what I was looking for.

The only piece that still seems missing for now is the .\levels\start.mis (or \template.mis) file, or even a .\levels folder. "Open Template" just gives the following: "ERROR: Load failed, can't find file "levels\template.mis". I'm missing something here.
if you want to use a level template, you will first have to get it from somewhere, I believe. try the ttlg forum.
Got it. Thanks again!
