Due to an old wrist injury, I find WASD controls to be very painful for anything more than 10 minutes at a time.

Do any/all of the Thief games have any support for controllers? Or would I need Xpadder (or similar)?

While Thief 1/2 do technically support controllers, I'm not sure if you can map the right stick, so looking around (other than optionally using the left stick to turn instead of strafe) appears to be impossible.

Thief 3 does support controllers, but as there are many more actions than gamepad buttons (and the gamepad doesn't work in the menu), Xpadder or Pinnacle Game Profiler is really the way to go.
