So ive just installed thief 2 to my computer with no problems at all apart from my in game menu and map not working, the only way i can get it to show is by minimizing the game window and then then opening it back up again. I also cannot read notes left about in the world(Same problem) . i have installed TafferPatcher_TMA_207_beta. Does anyone know how to fix this?

So minimising it fixes it? Try the following:

Go to the folder where Thief II is installed and edit cam_ext.cfg

Go to the force_windowed entry and remove the semicolon in front of it so it just looks like

force_windowed

and save your changes. This will make the game run in a borderless fullscreen window (assuming the in-game resolution is set the same as your desktop resolution). See if that fixes the problem.

it should be noted that running in the windowed mode is not supposed to be an universal cure for everything, as there are drawbacks to his (gamma not working, potentially reduced performance).

try posting your thief2.log and making a screenshot of the unreadable notes (press printscreen, a screenshot will be created inside the screenshots folder).

It only fixes it for the menu and the map, i cant even read any notes. Im not too worried about fixing the menu and map problem but i would like to be able to read the notes, because they are very important to read in this game. The game is already using a borderless fullscreen window. although im not sure if the resolution is the same in game as it is for my computer screen. Where abouts will i find the folder? Also dont know if it help but it will freeze the screen when i try read notes or try access my map or menu.
