I'm using Thief Gold from GOG on Ubuntu with latest Wine version. Installation works fine. Game starts correctly, but if I'm in the first level, I can't move.

First I installed this GOG patch available on the download section of gog, but it doesn't help. After that I installed this 150 MB community patch. Unfortunately I still can't move in the game. It's possible to move the mouse, but I can't walk or use other controls by the keyboard. The "customize control" tab in the game settings works correctly, every key is recognized.

I tried full screen and window mode. Used Windows 98 and Windows Xp settings in Wine. Also used the "emulate virtual desktop" option and the other ones ("capture mouse on full screen").

It's a little bit frustrating, that the game installs and starts correctly, but the only problem is this annoying issue ... argh :)
I have tried both Thief2 and System Shock2 under wine, and both worked ok as long as I made sure to run windowed or at the desktop resolution. seems like the keyboard input is not captured properly for some reason.

have you tried SS2 or T2? if you do not have them, T2 demo should serve nicely. if you'll have the same problem, it's definitely your machine/setup.
