What did you think of it? It really gave me a Thief vibe and even referenced Thief at one point in the game. The stealth my not be as solid as Thief (imagine sneaking without a light gem!), but the Blink teleport move adds a new dimension to stealth gameplay.
i'm currently playing dishonored and even though the stealth mechanic is enjoybale, i don't think of this as the possible game of the year. and the blink skill breaks the game in my opinion.
I wished, really did. But the Steam requirement makes it not possible for me... *sad*
I finished my stealth run through Dishonored just days ago. The Thief vibe plus the fluid movement made the game very enjoyable to me.
very interesting find (early concept arts for Corvo):

I'm half way through my second playthrough and I'm loving it. Thief definitely is more solid, but the fluid movements in Dishonored is great. I actually start playing Dishonored and end up playing Thief by the end of my gaming session.

It's definitely inspired by Thief more than any other game. It feels like Bioshock in a way, but the stealth is all Thief. The open, and very big, levels are really what makes it for me. More current games need to have sandbox levels.
Both excellent games although given some of the stuff I've got away with in Dishonoured's daylight missions I think the City Watch must need a visit to Specsavers.
I'm just starting with my play through Dishonored, and it's great fun, took me a while to get the different Stealth mechanics after playing Thief, but it's lots of fun - I look forward to seeing the Thief references in it :)
I'm in the middle of Dishonored on the 360 right now. If I had to lump it in with the Thief series, I'd say it's the second-best Thief game, behind only The Metal Age. I've been absolutely LOVING Dishonored, way more than I ever thought I would have before I picked it up. If you like Thief, you NEED to get Dishonored.

I agree with what others have said -- Blink can kind of make some parts of the game crazy-easy. The beauty of it, though, is the entire game is playable WITHOUT Blink, even though you're required to get it. If you don't want to use it, you don't have to. That, in and of itself, is amazing to me. The amount of ways in which to play this game is staggering, and you don't even have to commit to a certain way of playing for an entire level -- You can literally switch your play-style in the middle of a fight if you feel inclined to do so.
I really like Dishonored! Thief is superior though.
When I first started playing Dishonored, I got a strong Thief vibe, but by the time I was finished it felt like its own game. It's excellent in its own right but different enough from Thief that I didn't feel like it was simply rehashing things. Thief is an obvious inspiration but I'm glad the developers didn't simply try to re-do Thief, and instead opted to try some new things.

Moving around with blink was really fun, but I'm thinking I may play through again and roleplay Corvo as rejecting the Outsider, using technology only and no magic. Should be a stiff challenge.
Hopefully Dishonored will one day come out DRM-free. I look forward to playing then.
I thought the veiled references to Thief were cute. In one of the later missions you can sneak up on one assassin training another to sneak across a room using the shadows, ala the training mission in Thief Gold.

One of my favorite games atm, but it's too damn short (like most current games, I suppose...)

I've heard good things about the DLC, although I haven't played them myself yet. They're short too, apparently, but at least they offer a little more game. Also I hear the story is stronger, which is good because I thought it was the weakest aspect of the base game.
Dishonored does play a lot like Thief if you choose a non-lethal approach, however, I felt that both the stealth and combat aspects of the game were completely broken by Blink, and the game is not designed for a non-lethal playthrough without using Blink at all.

The designers did attempt to craft alternative paths that could be climbed without Blink, but they were not very thorough. If you attempt to play this game without Blink, you will miss quite a lot of content that is only accessible with Blink, and occassionally find all the Stealth paths converge into a spot that forces a choice between a full frontal assault or blinking over/onto a wall.
