This one is for Gomez from Numantian but also to anyone that has info or experience in game about my question.

Gog version, apart from lacking the editor and the special challenges, also lacks a zombie counter. Not only the global zombie counter but also our total number of zombie kills.

There is no way to know the progress towards the achievements for killing zombies, but after reading that the counter is related to Steam achievements stored variables, i wonder if those specific achievements are also bugged/non-working on GOG and impossible to achieve because there is no Steam data the game can retrieve about our total kill and i'm unsure about the differences between GOG achievement system and Steam achievement system.

Is this true and achievements don't work?

Is Numantian aware of this and thinking in a possible solution? (along with a Steam independent editor, that would be awesome)

Also, has someone here any of those achievements unlocked with GOG game version? The 50,000 one should be easy to get just playing the campaign.

If someone has those achievement unlocked and it's working, can you please consider the option to add also a counter for the game's GOG version?

.I didnt try yet... Did you check campaign stat panel near difficulty changer? It must contain counter somewhere... When you end campaign it must show you final stats - no matter steam or... not steam.

These achievements work perfectly though you cannot see the individual counter like you can watch it in STEAM. So there is an individual counter for every player to make real those achievements.

On the other hand GOG does not allow global variables, because of that is not possible a global counter for all players.

Ok, now i understand how it works. Was confused by what you said when you added the global counter on Steam and the differences between this and that version of the game.

But i wonder, why not make that individual counter visible inside the game for us to know the number of zombies we have killed? Ah ok ok because that would need an active connection when entering the game or something like that to read our individual variable and then "write" it to our game menu? lol i answered to myself i think.

Mil gracias! :D Now we both have our answer, there is no counter sadly except probably that final campaign stats (but that is not our total zombie kills because survival kills or other campaigns played are not counted inside the game just for GOG achievements)

EDIT: Colony Mayor achievement is not unlocking. I have just win a game with more than 2400 colonist and achievement is still locked for me :(

Dev Team says that It's not possible to add for showing the individual zombie killed number. It's not allowed by GOG.

If you build a city bigger than 2400 habs (and won the game) you should get the Achievements Colony mayor 1 and 2. Please check it fine because i had no problem to get them.

Thank you very much for asking about the counter. A shame that it is not allowed by GOG (i assume it has to do with sharing or doing public some inner system variables)

About the achievements, it's weird because i have played now about 33h on GOG with Galaxy and i have just 1 achievement unlocked: Giant Slayer 1 (after doing the Giant Lands campaign mission, and that was a lot of play time ago)

Between campaign and survival games (still unlocking all the maps, just 1 more to go) that's the only achievement i have. I believe you in that they are working, just feels weird don't seem to be working for me. I will try to uninstall and re-install the game and/or clean whole config+saves folder and start again if i must to see if achievements start unlocking.

Before i installed the GOG version i completely uninstalled Steam's version and also backup and cleaned the whole config/saves folder to avoid any trouble between both versions and then started the campaign again here so no files messing around.

I have the feeling that, since i unlocked the first achievement, something went wrong and it's not working now. That's also why i asked for the counter to verify number of kills and see how much i need yet to unlock the first Infected Killer level (if not killed enough, maybe i am already past 50.000 and it's simply not unlocking like the others) but Survivor achievements are also not unlocking despite having unlocked 3 maps with score factors between 42% and 100%, and now the Mayor is also not unlocking.

Anyway, thank you again, will let you know if/when i manage to unlock any other achievement after cleaning and re-installing all.

Yes, your situation looks like really strange. I'll say to the Dev Team just check if there is something that is not working with GOG achievements. I cannot check it directly. If they tell me something about, i will post it here for your.

I will add some info:

Infected Killed type of achievements seems to completely ignore infected killed during the campaign. Only those killed in Survival Mode counts.

Colony Mayor and Survivor Level achievements unlocked for me AFTER I finished the NEXT Survival game.
