Hey everyone,

I'm happy that I got Theme Hospital running on Windows 7 and started playing.
Unfortunately I encountered a problem. I did a quick search, but I haven't found anything that helps me.

Since I can train doctors to become surgeons or psychiatrists, the game doesn't (kind of) recognize
them as such. For example trained surgeons actually perform surgery, but (!!) once I fire the surgeon
consultant(s) or doctor(s) (who have been surgeons or psychiatrists from the start) the game tells me
to hire surgeons, even if I have trained at least two. And yes ... their training is complete ;)
Ironically even the game tells me they achieved the qualification.

Same goes for psychiatrists. The moment only the psychiatrists, whom I've trained, are
left, the game says I couldn't treat some patients because I have no psychiatrist.

Has anyone of you noticed that problem or do have any idea what the cause is?

FYI: I've already installed the two patches, you can find on gamefixes.

I have four doctors who have the qualification of a psychiatrist and surgeon :/

What if you put these doctors into their respective rooms? Will they leave them?

Theme Hospital has plenty of bugs that won’t be fixed. Since you found the cause of the problem yourself, I suggest you keep the doctors on your payroll.

I have never fired a consultant or even thought about doing it. The rate at which they cure people is worth their wage and you never know when you might need another one for training.

They won't leave the room. E.g. surgeons get dressed and wait. Just weird XD

But obviously you're right, normally I keep the consultant. I fired two consultant ( 170 + paycheck), because i've trained 6 AIP (65 - 70 paycheck ) to consultant with the same experience and more qualifications.
