I am on the final level. My bars are all green, 4 of 5 are complete other than % of patients cured. This is around 62%

The score of how the hospital is rated is 1000 out of 1000.

All of a sudden no more patients are visiting. If I leave the game to run until the patients that are in are cured until I have zero visitors left in then all the information on the report card vanishes such as how happy the visitors are

If I look at my competitors then all theirs have gone too

Is this a fault or is there simply no visitors left. I dunno what has happened. I'm 43 years in

I haven't played this game in ages and I've only played it once so I am less than familiar with it, but I would be inclined to say that the game has run out of patients. There seems to be a cheat code to add additional patients to the map. From GameFAQs:

"The first thing you do is open a green ? fax and enter 24328 on the pad then press the big button in the top right. Return to the game and press any of the following:
+1 patient SHIFT+1
Causes an emergency. CTRL+E"

I hope you still get inspector visits from time to time because the fax window only pop up when you discover a new disease (unlikely to happen forty three years in), are requested to make a decision regarding a patient (not going to happen), or when an inspector ask to visit your hospital.

I'm 1% away from winning by % of patients cure, and all of a sudden around start of July new visitors stopped coming in. I'm really frustrated. I really don't want to start the level again... I've tried moving the reception desk around, but that didn't do much. I've reloaded saved games before the issue began and it always stopped visitors from coming in eventually.

Let me know if you've found a way to resolve it.

Make sure you check the queue max size of your reception desk, if that is set to 0 you will get NO VISITORS!!!
