Gydion: Sure core of it still uses DOSBox, and yes the game is the same DOS version.

Gydion: I was considering the "solution" to be running setsound.exe. Which file you edit to do that is different. Your MDI.INI would likely work. He did rework MIDI/Munt support, but I think those changes are on the "outside".
That was my initial suggestion. My 'solution' in the end was to provide a pre-modified version of the file that setsound.exe changes. The MDI.ini file I posted sets the game's output to General MIDI. What Boxer and OSX do with that is something I'm not sure about. On Windows no further action was required. Perhaps I'm a fool for assuming that OSX would know what to do with General MIDI.
