I played a bit earlier and when I came back there wasn't any saved progress - all the files were empty. Anyone having this issue or know how to remedy it?

Running as administrator seems to have fixed the problem.

Make sure you enter the same nickname when you start the game.

Yes, plz. never use the gog default install directory !

Make your own like C:\Games\ThemeH

then you will never have problem with MODs for example or editing .cfg

Yeah I've had issues where my saves would revert to previously played levels and not the one I was actually saved on. Only thing I know of is making a new installation folder rather then the default GOG one, and always make sure to re-type the same nickname used on previous saves. Outside of that, I don't know what else would cause this issue as I am not as technically inclined as others might be. Happy gaming.

None of those answers worked for me, running the game under XP. Sir Primalform's solution didn't help. I was already running the game as an administrator, and in any case I had ownership of the files. And, yes, I was being careful about which player name I used.

It took a few minutes of remembering back to my DOS days, but I finally realized what was wrong. I had installed the game to D:\Games\Theme Hospital.

The game's save feature can't follow a path that's not in 8.3 format.

I reinstalled to D:\Games\THosp and everything's working fine.

How do you save your progress on a mac?
