So there's a "story bundle" DLC as a separate download, and as I understand it, these things can break old games. If I understand correctly, the story bundle is English only, and is NOT automatically added when you autopatch to the latest Galaxy build. I'm also not sure whether the bundle is included in the multiplayer build, which apparently requires running a separate launcher from single player.

Has anyone installed and used the story bundle yet? Is there a quick guide for that? I might be able to trial-and-error it myself later, but I'd rather know what the right way is in advance, and I'd rather not crash anything.

Anyway, this is kind of a mess. They seemed to really want to get this shipped in working condition and patch in the translations and merge the executables after the fact. But if you want in now, that's what you have to deal with, I guess.

Story bundle, basically, just a tome in a library. You can put it in and out without breaking anything, because it doesn' remove anything and doesn't change anything.
To install it, simply extract archive to corresponding directory.
I think it would work in multi if both players have this story pack installed (or is this hotseat...)

I was wondering about that yesterday. It seems that galaxy knows where to put it to work, you just have to click on it in extra downloads. I didn't actually try to play the game, but it can be opened in the quest editor. It adds about 15 events you can randomly encounter in game, some probably chained, nothing that should break older games (removing it after you played with it for a while might cause problems).
The quest editor is kind of weird. I think it loads whatever you put there, but most of the quests are kept somewhere else or are hard-coded or packaged somehow? Only the new bundle thingy is in the Adventures folder, and it's the only thing the editor sees.

Other games let you keep a directory and let you toggle individual add-ons when you launch.

I'm not sure I understand how it works, but it looks like you're right - the update automatically downloads a copy of the quest pack and puts it in the working directory. But it's weird that it's treated differently than other content in this respect. Maybe it's because they don't have the translations done yet, but it's just weird.
Just to be clear: you have to manually move the download into the main game's file structure. Edit: ok I see now user huan is saying about using the game system itself to load the files. I did it more manually, as my post says:

It is clear to see. You can install the main game and from the main menu select the Events Editor and see the message there about how additional files can be added into the file structure it names. Then just download the "Story Bundle" extra and put it into the main game file structure as you expect. You can start the game now and click the Events Editor from the main menu and confirm that the events you just added are there.
