is there anything extra you get??? I know updates always hit steam first but because of the company I would like to get it off of gog....

Not sure about this, with GOG Galaxy client, updates for GOG and Steam will probably be released at the same time.
Anyway, if you want to support GOG, buy it here. ;)

Also, I don't see any bonuses on Steam.

Well this version was a no brainer for me, since I was in the beta and got a discount. Also, DRM free ftw.

Is there cross platform play between PC and Android/iOS? I see GOG and Steam can play together.
