He lives in a world of pain. IMHO there is far too much foul fate, because he is literally always doomed. Sometimes he misses even two of his dice or cannot travel, which feels like, forever.
I love the way he can use potions to injure himself and change the result of the battle. If you brew enough potions, you can literally win any fight.
It takes a steep learning curve on how to play him.
0. Develop at the beginning as much as possible and brew potions every once in a while.
1. ignore any foul fate on abilities. You cannot prevent the fate debuffs anyway, so just click it and be done with it. I believe once you suffered through one, it cannot return as the card is used. For example I never lost dice more than twice.
2. On the quest card it tells you what to gather and where to go, all you need to do to win.
3. The rest is pure luck.
4. Tasks are not suitable to discard any foul fate dice removing cards.
