Never occurred to me.
Do you login and launch the game through GOG Galaxy?
Did you install the game thorugh Galaxy or standalone installer?

I moved the game over from my other hard drive because I set up a new computer. Then I started it through galaxy and it won't authenticate online play. So i uninstalled and installed again, wasting more internet bandwidth.
