I tried some rounds with my friends, and found that its hard to win when playing as Dandelion.

For most of the time I will keep "develop", once I got the skill that allow me to ignore monster fight I will start exploring.

But traveling across the board to collect clues is time consuming, so I tried "investigate". However it comes the nightmare. Almost every draw of "investigate" is as bad as foul fate card: lose clues, lose skills, like I have done nothing for the previous turns when Geralt and Yarpen kill everythings, investigate card dont slow them down, and are close to win.

I havnt try Triss but I never see her win.

I trust FFG and it shouldn't be the game balancing issue, so I'm hoping some professional players could give me some advice on playing as Dandelion / Triss.

Thanks.

Keep developing your Viscount. He gets cards which give gold for completing quest elements, and also VP whenever someone in the same region completes quests or kills higher level monsters (Half a Century of Poetry).

With gold on your full party, you can easily kill any monster in game too, just in case you end up with only Gold monsters after Geralt does a nasty and runs instead of fighting (or worse strips off the nice bronze monster, leaving the Striga for you...)

Triss can also easily defeat any monster if she has spells prepared, but needs more time to develop ~ Crows shield can protect completely though, if you are prepared to not fight for VP.

I never saw the AI add coins to Dandelion's cards, nor spend much time boosting Triss's spells, which is probably why they both suck when player has Geralt or Yarpen.
I play only with Triss and the success I have 95% of the winnings. For me the best character in the game, with whom I also best plays. Just often use develop card. It has good spells. The worst I played with Dandelion. For me, the most difficult for him to play. Only one win with him.
Thanks for the reply!

Finally I got the chance to play as Triss with friends and she is powerful!

Triss's spell is all-round, could overcome any situation, like erasing "skull icon", or help you travel further withing drawing foul fate cards, but yes, just as you guys said, she need some turns to develop.

I have win several rounds over my friends with Triss.

One friend played Dandelion, his strategy is: 1. avoid battle / 2. follow other players, let other players to clear the region for you / 3. dont mess with investiagte

Attached screenshot is one of our games result. Triss (me) rushed 3 quests, Dandelion got 1 last turn and finished a side quest and become the 1st runner-up, poor Geralt has no extra last turn.

Investigate is reasonably safe with Codringer (and Fenn) allowing you to choose between two cards... Takes a coin, as with most of the other cards (though the trio of "Clever Minstrel", "Epic Song", "Half a Century of Poetry" are very useful and don't need charging)... vital to keep charged up if you are wandering near monsters (as when stalking Geralt's monster hunts) is the one which allows ignoring monsters in the absence of FF. (Note that you shouldn't waste the charge on this if a FF is present, as it only 'distracts' the monsters, and not masks you completely as Triss's option does).

He is tricky to play, but can run Geralt close H2H, and should be stronger with more other players. The ability to "safely" browse the Investigation deck is very powerful.
His playstyle is quite easy, just keep using the sing option to get 2 gold, and keep developing him. The key is to get Blasco Grant friend card from your development stack - he will allow you to ignore all monsters at the end of the round. Dandelion has trouble with large attack numbers (unless you spend a lot of gold), but with one special card from his development stack, he has no problem with defence. After that, the key is to find a city with a bronze monster that you can defend against even without Blasco Grant - then you can spend all your time on singing and development and investing all the gold into friends and items you get. After you have most of the usefull cards from the development stack (Cahir and Vincent for attack and def, myhrman for bad luck and others that will give you gold / victory points) you can just move wherever you want, use Blasco to dodge monsters and just focus on your mission goals. It takes time, but with 2 gold each turn, and one point int Blasco - you can become quite the tough fighter or be very safe.

Triss is just a power house, just prepare spells and develop, you will have no problems.
You could allow use Dandelion Myhrman card to "attack" the hero that you stalking by transferring to him the foul fate on your player sheet.
