I purchased the previous 2 Witcher games, and while I can appreciate why people like them I dropped both after a couple of hours. With TW2 the amount of time having to speak to people and cut-scene interruptions made me loose interest in the game.

What I do enjoy in RPG's is leveling up, exploring new lands, finding items/weapons/armors, and fighting beasts.

Anyways, so from that perspective, that being of someone who doesn't enjoy heavy dialog/cutscene RPG's, would I still enjoy TW3? Is there enough of the exploring/item hunt/beastie killing enough and is the chit-chat skippable/un-introsive for someone like me?

Cut scenes are part of what the game is. They are skip-able (SPACE key), but you need to be aware that conversations hold important information. There is oodles of time for exploring and monster killing, but also be aware that XP is gained primarily through quests, not monster farming.

Thanks for the reply. Let me ask it this way...so Divinity Original Sin has a lot dialog/questing as well, but I pretty much skip all of it. With that said, just by skimming the occasional text and using context clues I could still reasonably finish all the quests and progress through the game easily...and enjoy the parts that I do like (the combat, exploration, puzzles, etc).

Wasn't the same for me in TW2, just the beginning of the game was like an hour of cutscene/10 mins gameplay/cutscene/etc. When I finally got past that the first town I was interrupted like 2-3 times by cutscenes just trying to walk through town.

Is TW3 more like D:OS in this regard, or is it pretty much the same as in TW2?

On a side note, to this day I have really no idea what the story is in D:OS, but loved the game anyways :P

It starts pretty cut scene heavy, but once you're past the tutorial and into White Orchard, the first real area, then cut scenes are there only when you initiate some quest or other. The game isn't driven by cut scenes, the cut scenes are part of keeping you immersed in the story. If you don't like story, then just skip them where you can, but I really don't understand why anybody would do that. Each to his/her own, I guess.

Not interested in cutscenes/dialog/story, I enjoy gameplay more. Thanks for the reply, I think I have a better idea of how the game plays out now.

Just watch a let's play. That'll give you the best idea.

I think you can have a good time exploring the main regions, because I don't like the open world / monster spamming / items aspects of this game (because I think a more story driven aproach would have beed better).

There are tresures and plenty of small and bigger caves in the main regions. You just have to skip through the tutorial and the first region (which offers some exploring but is small compared to the rest of the game).

This is the best game I've ever played.

Having said that. I love RPGs.

If you're not into the story, I'd find something else to play. What makes RPGs great are the stories.

This has that in spades, as well as great combat and exploration. But if you're not into the story, you might have more fun with CoD or Battlefield.
