Hello everyone,

I am mostly asking for help from the team behind the game, but I more than welcome answers from all of you fellow GOG-ers.

My question revolves around my ability to play the Witcher 3 on my low spec PC: I have downloaded the GOG version off a torrent site, to check weather I could simply start the game or not, and I managed to play the tutorial part on low(ish) settings.
Does this mean I will be able to play the entire game? Or is the starting section lighter on system requirements than the later parts?

I am asking since I would really like to buy the game, but I wouldn't want to simply look at the case in a shelf, and aquiring the product would be an effort on my part (albeit a small one, but an effort none the less).

Appreciate any answer, and hope the whole story doesn't sound too weird :)

P.S. My specs: 2.5 Core2Duo processor, 4 GB of RAM, and an 1 GB Gigabyte OC GTS 450, 1280x1024 monitor.

First of all... My PC can barely handle it according to CAN I RUN IT?, and I have an AMD 6350 3.9 GHZ (6 CORES) w/ 8 GB DDR3 1866 ram, and a R 270X GPU..

Secondly, at the Very least, you could have "Borrowed" a copy from a friend, Torrenting the game is VERY DUMB.. Who knows what other Trojans that torrent has.. I've bricked too many systems using torrents, so On my Brand New PC, not a SINGLE torrent is on it..

Lastly, Did you NOT READ the fine print?? GOG.COM offers a 30 DAY money back, no questions asked policy..

I will give GOG the benefit of the doubt and buy the game, if it doesn't run smoothly, I'll get a refund, Or just upgrade to an AMD 8350 8 Core CPU.. I do have a job so I just have to work a little harder to get a newer CPU, luckily my computer's motherboard is pretty flexible, Something that INTEL ISN'T... ANY AM3 CPU works on it.. If Intel was anywhere as interchangable as AMD, it would have been my first choice for the upgrade, but.. Intel likes to Force users to shell out tons of money for stuff they might already have..

P.S., Why didn't you just goto Systemrequirementslab.com to begin with?? Pirating doesn't do anyone favors..

Not enough Ram,you will need 8Gb.And unsure about processor.

CPU / RAM / Display card all are insufficient for the game. Better off buy a new PC.
Also make sure Windows is 64-bit.

Well,I thought the specs looked weak.First thing I noticed was the ram shortage
and that's as far as I went.Something like driving a car with only 3 wheels,it can be
done but not very well.

I think you are eligible for a refund only if:

a) You haven't tried to download the game nor extras (then I think the refund goes beyond 30 days).

or

b) You are unable to get the game working due to technical reasons even with GOG's support, even though you pass the minimum requirements. This includes also the Windows/OS version. This has the 30 day limitation, so that you don't come back complaining a few years from now how you can't get the game working.

I think in this case he wouldn't necessarily be eligible for a refund, as his PC is below the minimum requirements (I think?). It might be GOG might still choose to refund at least with store credit, but there are no guarantees.
Thanks for the replies everyone, looks like I will have to wait wait until I will be able to upgrade my rig.

As for the torrenting issue, if there was a Demo out, I would have gone with that. I am not eligible for a refund as my machine is WAY below minimum specs (and to be fair, it's not right from a moral point of view to invoke any other reason just to get my money back).

Second of all, I want the retail copy of the game, which I presume would make the refund difficult if not impossible.

Finally, while Systemrequirementslab.com is a good soursce of information, it told me I cannot run the game, which proved wrong, since I was able to play through the tutorial part without any issues.
I just started this thread since I thought that once I get to larger areas, I will start encountering problems with loading/frame rates, and I did not want to invest 10..15 hours to get to a point at which I would hit an impassable wall so to say.
