There are some areas that are heavily taxing for cpus due to weird coding (caused mainly by foliage draw distance rendering foliage that cannot possibly be seen due to being in a town) for some reason my fps goes UP when I turn on vsync. How is this possible? I've reproduced this test many times. It works 9/10 times for me. I have a gtx 980 thats heavily overclocked and an i5 4590, and I have every setting put on max. Even hairworks max settings and max aa. and on most areas I average 60-80 fps but in some areas I get cpu bottlenecked (frames drop and stuttering appears. Gpu usage drops from always 99% to 80-98% fluctuations confirms it) I drop to the low 50s and it doesnt bother me other than the stuttering since but when I turn on V sync, the frames go from 50-60 and madly fluctuating causing stuttering, to solid 60 with the OCCASIONAL 1 fps drop and no stuttering. There are times when like 1/9 times it stays the same but if I just turn v sync off then back on again enough times it will reproduce the same effect. What could be causing v sync to INCREASE my framerate in this scenario?
