Hello,
After a long break in my Witcher adventures I recently installed it again to continue my savegame. It ran okay, some driver crashes every now and then but I already had that back in May, so I was okay with that.
However, since I returned to Skellige for some side missions, the game practically became unplayable due to the frequency of crashes. I can barely play 10-15 minutes before the NVidia driver crashes on me. I even had a bluescreen this morning with the message Video_TDR_failure nvlddmkm.sys.
I really don't know what to do, and what the reason for this is. Here is a brief list of what I have done so far:
- Changed the game's graphics options all to low and turned everything in postprocessing off; tried in fullscreen instead off borderless window mode
- Tried different Nvidia driver versions; I have tested with 364.72, 362.00 and 361.75
- Started the game as admin
- Monitored my temperatures while playing
Here's my system:
OS: Windows 10 Pro
CPU: i7-4790k 4.00GHz
GPU: MSI Gtx 770 OC 2GB
RAM: 16GB
SSD: Samsung 850 Pro
MB: ASrock Z97 Killer
And, in case it matters, I use G-Sync while playing Witcher :)
I hope anyone can help me, I'd appreciate any ideas. Thanks!
