10urEfendi: Toussaint is also bugged for me. after minutes of silence you can hear that calmly tune if you explore the areas outside of the towns and villages. if you enter the big city no music at all. then after a while you can finally hear the music but it stops after 1 or 2 loops.
Exactly what I'm experiencing. I hope there'll be a fix soonish, as I love the Toussaint theme for exploring. Seems to work most times in caves as well.

exactly. hope it's gonna fixed with the new patch
As far as patch 1.22 is concerned the music and background sounds returned to normal. Relevant thematic score triggers properly now.
As for the main game the music is normal again. But what's still not working is Toussaint:
- if you are exploring the area, you first hear AFTER A MINUTE or so that calm tune. then its either silence or that part other part starts playing with the vocals for 2 or 3 loops.
-leaving the main city or entering a different district stops the music. so you have stay in the area to hear the 2-3 loops.
-combat/battle music works so far but if you finish fighting, the music doesn't have a "ending" part. it just ends abruptly or fades almost instantly. after that you hear again no background music for a minute. than that calm exploration tune starts again.
-if you come close to bards playing instruments in the city you can hear their music but the main music stops. leaving them means you hear no more music so you have to wait again until its starts.
However it works in caves, during cutscenes and the cemetary outside the city.
i noticed that some lets play videos on youtube have the same problems with the music.
The game music isn't normal at all with patch 1.22. The ambient music in Velen and Kaer Trolde is fixed with patch 1.22, but the Track "Silver For Monsters", The Fields of Ard Skellig" and Ladies of the Woods" are gone and won't play properly. These are the three best tracks from the whole soundtrack and they give the scenes such a great atmosphere and without them i really stopped playing the game. The music in Toussaint is also buggy as hell and always need several minutes before it starts and there are a lot of parts in complete silence (even very important cutscenes).

Why didn't they fix this music bug with patch 1.22? Now we need to wait again several weeks or months for a new patch. I really wished that they took more time to test patch 1.21 and Blood and Wine before they released it. Why didn't they just released it at the end of june? Patch 1.21 and Blood and wine are really buggy and don't feel as polished as the rest of the game. Now they even break parts of the main game. I can live with many smaller bugs like body parts flying in the air, but not with bugs that are related to the music because music is such an important part for me in this game and i really can't enjoy the game with this music bug. They have to fix it as soon as possible!!! I don't care about roach's tail missing or small things like that.

Yes I've noticed this as well. The music stopping completely in a scene or area. Even worse sometimes a wrong piece of music is being played in an area or cutscene: fx example at Everecs Estate inside the house with the female ghost in the painting the idyllic and soothing forest setting music score was playing thus ruining the entire cutscene...
This is just one example out of many.

This bug has not always been present but was introduced along one of the expansions I reckon.

Playing with both expansions installed and newest game version 1.31.

This is a pretty severe bug since it can potentially ruin the atmosphere of every single area and cutscene in the game.

The problem as described by 10urEfendi still persists. I am playing the GOTY version 1.31(A). Has anyone found an acceptable solution yet?
Can confirm the bug still exists in 1.31 / GOTY, modded or vanilla. No music in a few areas (Rosemary & Thyme most recently) and frequent cutouts in menus, during dialogue, or just at random. It's so jarring that I'm considering just turning off the music altogether, even though I love the soundtrack. It'll dull the game, but at least I won't get pulled out of it every other cutscene.

Still my favorite game after Morrowind, but this bug is the worst.
