I've just finished the main sotry of the game and it was brilliant, but I was wondering if there would be a witcher 4, as CDPR said that this is the last game for Geralt, but never said it's the last witcher game. Obviously we won't see one until about 2019, 2020 something like that because of Cyberpunk 2077, but what do you guys think, will it be set at a earlier point, what witcher will we get to play as, will it be set in a different place (Zerekania or Kovir).

Not sure. I think they have only covered 2 or 3 of the books. Theres about 7 in total I think :O

I don't really care, as long as they keep improving the game as they have been doing so far :) I don't know, maybe we will see an enhanced edition, with some really cool graphics and fx, etc.

The story takes place after the events of the books.

I wouldn't mind some DLC where you have to play in Zerrikania for example. Or for Leto or Roche or any other characters.

What they have said is that this is the last game for Geralt. So there might be more witcher games but it won't involve Geralt as the main character.

The story in the books is considered the canon. The game created by CDPR takes place after the events in the books. It is not considered the canon story :P At least that is what Sapkowski, writer, said in one of his interviews.

As for Witcher 4. I hope they will leave the game as is. Maybe provide a few expansions. That is all. Witcher 4 would be milking and raping the franchise and most probably would leave a bad taste. Current game provides a nice closure to the whole adventure and I would rather leave it there before something goes wrong. We already have ongoing series like Assassins Creed, Call of Duty etc. Are they anything out of ordinary? They should focus on a physical Gwint game :P

I can live with that. I hope they continue to make Witcher games though. It is definitely my favourite series.

Yeah they could make some games about other Witcher's i would like to see something like first Leto's crusade with Geralt against the Wild Hunt or even not Witchers but from this universe.

They've already stated that Geralt's story is coming to an end at TW3. So maaaaaybe there could be some other games inside the same universe.

I think they will probably start working on Cyberpunk 2077 after they have done everything for this game.

After cyberpunk, they may create a game focusing on a 'different witcher' and maybe a different time period.

sure one would think witcher 4 is epic, but imo it would only show the lack of ideas with CDPR.
I don't think they will do witcher 4, they don't need to because they are creative and smart enough to create new original content.
Luckily they are not bioware ;)

There will be either Witcher 4 or a new name in new Witcher series. http://thewitcher4news.com/ - The site reported Witcher 3: Wild Hunt wrapped up the saga of Geralt of Rivia but the Witcher franchise will be continued. CEO Adam Kicinski has stated that the “franchise will be continued.”

Nothing has been revealed where will the play will be set.
