I don't understand why you have to break up the game by having 7 download links...that is retarded to say the least. If your server can not handle one single download link then host such games. I got my code by buying my 970 video card but sure as hell not to sit around and watch so many downloads come down.

It's not a question of hosting, rather delivering. They're accommodating people that have slower, unstable connections, which is a large portion of their user base i'd say. (eastern europe, and hell even the UK in places). Use the GOG Downloader and it downloads them all for you.

No speed difference between getting one big or several smaller files. And, as the other poster said it's good to split large files like this, imagine downloading one 20GB file and losing your connection at 99%, would be quite irritating no? With smaller files less chance of having to restart, and you can do it in parts rather than committing to a single large download for as long as it takes. It's a standard way of distributing large files, nothing retarded about it at all.
